The Rise of Harout Pamboukjian and Parseghian Records in the 70s Disco Scene

Darone Sassounian is a selector and producer from Los Angeles and head o Rocky Hill Records. 

In 2021, he released “Silk Road: Journey of the Armenian Diaspora: 1971 - 1982” via Terrestrial Funk with artists varying from Harout Pamboukjian, Eddy Jeghelian, Marten Yorgantz, and other musicians from the Armenian diaspora. 

Darone Sassounian’s compilation celebrates Armenian culture and identity while simultaneously infusing modern influences of disco, funk, and soul creating a unique blend of cultures.
